Text: Jude 1:17-21
Paul writes in Ephesians 5:15-16, "So be careful how you live, not as unwise but as WISE, making the BEST use of the TIME because the days are evil."
We all have the same amount of time in a day. No one has more; no one has less. So we must be careful how we use that God-given time. Paul continues in Ephesians 5 by writing that a wise person understands what the Lord wants them to do with their time(verse 17). Living in God's will is the same as keeping yourself in the love of God (Jude 21). Jude tells us how to stand firm in the love of God:
- Build each other up in the faith (verse 20)
- Pray in the Holy Spirit (verse 20)
- Watch eagerly for the Lord Jesus Christ (verse 21)
When we are NOT careful in how we live, we fail to make the best use of time, ignoring the urgency of the spiritual battle. This is the opposite of living in wisdom. It's just dumb! And the fruit of wisDUMB is:
- Saying we are too busy to be involved in a Kgroup
- Rushing through prayers and keeping them superficial
- Forgetting that Jesus is returning and life is short
Want wisdom? According to Proverbs 1:7, wisdom cannot exist without a reverent "fear" of God. Do you want to grow in the fear of God? Here is a helpful article.
