Abraham's Faith, God's Glory
Romans 4:13-25

Yesterday, we looked at Abraham’s life and saw a faith that wasn’t perfect, but persistent—a faith that kept trusting even when circumstances screamed, “This is impossible!”

Paul says Abraham “grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God.” His strength didn’t come from himself. It came from trusting the God who “gives life to the dead and calls into existence things that do not exist.”

John Ortberg wrote a book years ago with a title that has stayed with me: If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat. It’s a simple but challenging reminder that faith always requires movement. Peter didn’t experience the power of Jesus by staying in a place of safety. He had to step out, shaky legs and all.

Abraham lived that way. He obeyed before he had answers. He trusted before he saw results. And God strengthened him step by step.

So here’s the question for this week:
Are you attempting anything right now that actually requires faith?

Not just routine or habit—something that pushes you beyond your comfort zone and compels you to trust God anew. For me, I have a neighbor who needs Jesus. Is there a person or situation where God is asking you to step out of the boat?

Faith doesn’t mean you never stumble. You will. It means you don’t stop trusting God.

May God give you Abraham’s courage to step into the unknown and Abraham’s perseverance to keep trusting when the path is unclear.
