Helping each other know & follow Jesus in our home, city, and world.

Join us Sundays @ 10:30 AM

Text: Mark 1:35-38 (ESV)
35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, 37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” 38 And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.”
It is impossible to wrap our minds around the truth that Jesus was both 100% God and 100% human.  While He need no more of the fullness of God (Colossians 2:8-9), because He was already the exact representation of God's nature (Hebrews 1:3), He did not live His life as God apart from His Father, but rather as a man in dependence upon His Father (John 5:19).

Jesus desires that we live our lives the same way.  If Jesus prayed in order to live a godly life full of power, so must we!

Do you want to pray like Jesus?
  • Schedule a regular and consistent time of prayer in a place where distractions will be minimal.
  • Pay attention to a wandering mind, meaningless repetition, meaningless phrases and selfish requests.
  • Use the Lord's prayer as your outline for prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) (Click HERE for a book to help you learn how).
