Set Sail!

God’s love for His children is enormous. We can never fully comprehend it.

God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:5

Wow! God's love poured into our hearts! And this love wasn't simply a feeling. He gave us Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit! Jesus said this indwelling of the Holy Spirit will result in rivers of living water flowing out of our innermost being (John 7:37-39).

For many Christians, there is often a gap between these high ideals of the Bible and the harsh reality of life. Why does this happen?

When we lose sight of the enormity of God's love, we drift toward things such as apathy, legalism, and performance. Living in these ways is a miserable existence for the believer, as we are either rowing with all our might trying to measure up, or we give up and float—going through the motions of it all.

Please take time to deeply consider these questions for your joy and liberation: What obstacles can you identify in your life that hold you back from trusting in the enormity of God’s love for you? What do you believe God is revealing to you about those obstacles?

Hoist your sail and allow the wind of God's love to control you (2 Corinthians 5:14). There, we experience joy as we represent Jesus to this world and use the gifts God has given us to bring others to maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:13).
