Helping each other know & follow Jesus in our home, city, and world.

Join us Sundays @ 10:30 AM

"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" Mark 16:15

It's only fitting that our 68-week study in the Gospel of Mark ends with a command to take action! Mark's gospel is unique because it emphasizes Jesus’ actions more than His teaching. Often we are guilty of never connecting the teaching of the Word with action. Today, we have a call to action!

When it comes to God’s will and stepping out in faith, many Christians are looking for a spiritual Magic 8-Ball or listening for a clear and nearly audible “prompting” from the Holy Spirit to point them in the right direction before they do something. But Jesus says, "Go and make disciples!" Do something!

  • Pray and ask God to bring to mind a few people in your sphere of influence who haven't yet decided to follow Jesus.
  • Invite them to share a lunch or invite them over for family dinner. Build a relationship.
  • Rely on the Holy Spirit to bring to mind the simple gospel message and how Jesus changed your life. Remember where you came from. Don't be a "know-it-all."
  • Ask questions and listen. We often think we need a lot of the right words or a precise formula to convince someone to trust Jesus, but in reality, people are more willing to tell you exactly where they are spiritually if we are willing to listen to them.

Suggestions for Christians who don't know many non-Christians:

  • Go to lunch with co-workers you don't know well.
  • Get out of your house! Take interest in your neighbors. Ask questions. Pray as you go.
  • Be a regular. Instead of hopping around for gas, haircuts, convenience stores, and eating out--go to the same place often. Get to know the staff. Smile. Ask questions. Care.
  • Hobby with Non-Christians.
  • Volunteer with Non-Profits.

As we go about our life, we make disciples. We "walk wisely towards outsiders" (Colossians 4:5).  We "let our conversation be gracious and attractive" (Colossians 4:6). We are "prepared to give a defense for our hope" (1 Peter 3:15).
