What is God doing here?
Preach the word; 2 Timothy 4:2

Do you want to be a person who walks in the awareness of God’s activity? When you walk into a room, do you desire to be used by God to impact others for eternity?

I sure do! We have been called to be the tools of God's grace in the life of others. God is always at work around us and when we are aware of the potential of God's activity, we can make a difference. God is doing the heavy lifting. We just follow His lead.

But there are a few things that show up in our text which help prepare us for these moments.

• Memorize Scripture. God's Word is God-breathed (3:16).
• Know and trust the power of the gospel--"preach the word." Remember Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation...
• Be ready "out of season" (4:2). These are the times when proclaiming the word is awkward, difficult, or resisted.
• Know that many will reject the gospel (4:3). Our job isn't to convince people. Our job is to preach the Word.
• You have everything you need (3:17 & 4:5). God’s Word will always accomplish what He desires.
