Paid in Full!

Text: John 19:28-37

The gospel makes you right with God! Through faith in Christ and his crucifixion and resurrection, God declares you righteous! Your sin debt is paid in full!

But the gospel doesn’t just make you right with God; it frees you to deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Him. You are free to delight in God, He changes your heart, and you live differently. How so?

• The gospel humbles you. There is no room for pride when we see ourselves as sinners desperate for grace.
• The gospel makes us authentic. We value community and crave accountability and wisdom from other believers.
• The gospel brings boldness. "We no longer live, but Christ lives in us (Galatians 2:20). We don't need to worry about what others think about us.
• The gospel brings hope, even in suffering. Our perspectives and attitudes change. We see God's hand in everything.
• The gospel fills us with gratitude. The cross should prompt us to praise God and pray daily, "Thank you, Jesus!"
