No Excuses

Romans 5:17 tells believers they receive two incredible gifts through Jesus at salvation: an abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness.

"For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ."

Before Christ, death reigned. It was king. Everyone born in Adam (that's everyone) was under a death sentence. If anyone questions that death sentence, all they need to do is look at God's law. It shuts everyone's mouth. They have no excuses. 

"Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:19-20).

But receiving God's justification by placing our faith in Jesus not only frees us from the kingdom of death, it allows us to rule in the kingdom of life alongside Jesus! We've been set free to live life in the Spirit! You are a life-giver!

Believers are ruling with Jesus. Believers are serving in the new way of the Spirit. God has put within His children strong desires to love Him, follow His will, love others, and be guided by the Word of God.
