Helping each other know & follow Jesus in our home, city, and world.

Text: Colossians 3:1-10

Grace: God's unmerited favor.  Grace means that God showered favor and blessing on those who did not in any way deserve or earn it. They deserved His judgment and wrath. But He showered them favor.
Titus 2 tells us that grace trains us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age (Titus 2:11-12).  How does grace train us?

As you recite, rehearse, review, meditate on, pray over, and contemplate God's unmerited favor in Jesus, it should motivate you to want to please Him in everything you do.

As you read Scripture, the Holy Spirit reveals much in your life that displeases God, who gave Jesus on the cross to save you from His wrath. In response to His grace you begin living more and more as Jesus--denying yourself daily, taking up your cross, and following Him.

This includes saying "no" to ungodliness.  The more we taste God's grace, the more we will learn to say "no" to godless living.

Seek a fresh daily perspective of the gospel!

We make time for what we truly value. We build habits and routines around the things that really matter to us.

Reminding yourself of the gospel in the most important daily habit you can establish.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength and self-control to daily seek the presence of Jesus and comprehend the full power of grace! The power to say "no" to sin and "yes" to righteousness is truly available to God's children!
