Spiritual sight leads to worship of God. How is your worship?

Text: John 9:13-25

When the man who was healed of blindness fully understood who Jesus was, he worshiped Jesus.

He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him (9:38).

Worship is our response to God for who He is and what He has done. Worship is expressed in the things we say and the way we live our lives.

How is your worship? Our lack of worship is a matter of the heart. You can read more chapters in your Bible, attend more prayer meetings, join more Bible studies, and still not worship.

Jesus follows the man's declaration of faith with a word for the crowds:
Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind” (9:39)

John Piper, speaking on the topic of desiring God, writes:
"Struggling has hope of success, but forsaking the struggle does not.”
There is grace for those who continue to admit their blindness and need for Jesus. Sadly, more religious activity often leads to pride (or "sight" in Jesus' illustration). Rather than making us humble and desperate for Jesus, knowledge puffs us up. Scripture is clear again and again, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Your worship will increase as your view of God increases. You must decrease so He can increase. And for that, there is grace today. Will you humbly reach out for grace?

It's all about Jesus!
John
